All Councils and local authorities have different rules regarding building projects and pool fencing. You must check with your local authority about your requirements. Your choice of pool comes complete with extensive engineering drawings to assist when dealing with councils or private certifiers. NSW regions require independent fencing for above-ground pools, so knowing the rules is essential. Nordic Plunge Pools will manage all site plans, submissions, inspections, and certifications and provide a comprehensive handover of your pool. 

Each pool is designed to sit on a level concrete slab and can also be placed in the ground. This ensures that the weight of the pool and the exoskeleton are evenly supported, which is an installation requirement. The concrete slab should be a minimum of 110mm thick, poured on plastic sheeting, reinforced with SL62 mesh, and level. Control joints are not required, and there should be no fall on the slab. 

You will need to engage a licensed electrical contractor to connect your pool and heat pump, if necessary. The contractor must understand Section 6 of the Wiring Rules and be familiar with the equipotential bonding of swimming pools and spa pools as per the Australian Standard Electrical Installations—Wiring Rules (AS3000). 

It is imperative to plan this before delivery, as there are restrictions on the placement of heat pumps and electrical connections. Ask us for our trade preferences.
